Americans: Let’s stop investing in our kids

Consider the alternatives. The $500,000 could have been invested in Pizza Hut franchises in China, mobile phone towers in India, or supermarkets in Brazil. With a 10 percent return on investment, not atypical in these high-growth countries, the money spent to educate an American child could be yielding $50,000 per year in income.

Interesting, if not revolutionary idea. For the whole history of civilization people craved for more and more education. While I think it's good for its own sake, it doesn't necessarily means it's the most profitable path.
